Where did May go?

My family finished the month of May being just as busy as we were at the beginning of it. Elizabeth completed preschool and I was there with her on her last day for a small performance, craft, and sundae celebration. On Thursday Leah and I took the train from Michigan City, Indiana to downtown Chicago to meet my mom and niece for lunch at the American Girl store. Then Friday night we had Leah's insect themed birthday party. While I am amazed at how fast the month of May flew it hardly seems possible that she was born 7 years ago!

Do you enjoy gymnastics?

Today I had the joy of watching Elizabeth and Leah perform at their gymnastics gym. Both girls do really well and are very coachable. It was fun to see their different personalities come out during their individual performances. Leah was very serious and intentional with all of her events while Elizabeth was quite silly and less particular with her tricks. The entire family was also able to watch Elizabeth sing during her school's praise and worship service earlier this week.

How was your Mother's Day?

Aside from a second round of strep throat for me and the 4th time for Leah, Mother's Day was fine. We spent the afternoon at Tim's mom's house celebrating Mother's Day and two of my nephew's birthdays. The day before we were at my sister's house for her son's birthday and we were able to see my mom then. The rest of the week was fairly uneventful, but still busy.

The month of May is always busy for our family and this first week was no exception. The Tulip Festival downtown Holland was by far the main attraction. After school on Tuesday I took Leah and Elizabeth to the carnival. The weather was absolutely perfect and the crowds were light which made the lines for the rides short. They both had a blast riding the roller coaster in the front seat with nobody else on board. Then on Thursday afternoon Leah and I walked in the kinder parade together. It was a LOT of waiting around to walk for a rather short distance, but she enjoyed herself. This week I also had the chance to attend Elizabeth's last preschool field trip where we rode the train from Coopersville to Marne and back.

Which craft do you prefer?

The last few weeks have become somewhat of a blur. Toward the end of April I spent the weekend at a cottage near Lake Michigan being crafty. Most of my time was spent working on my scrapbooks both digital and traditional, but I did manage to work on a sewing project for Jazmin. On Saturday Leah came to work on a paper scrapbook of her own for a few hours while Tim took Elizabeth to Holland to run some errands. During that time they went to Barnes & Noble to see Clifford the big red dog.
