The last few years Tim and I have taken Leah and Elizabeth to the Grandville parade with his parents. It starts with a fly by of jets over the street and continues with sirens, floats, marching bands and TONS of candy. We learned the first year just how much candy is tossed to the crowd so we went prepared with bags to collect it all. Once the parade was over we had a barbeque lunch at Tim's parents' house. On the way home we stopped and bought some kid friendly fireworks which we then lit on our driveway this evening before the girls went to bed. It was a good Independence Day celebration!
